This post is dedicated to the memory of my formerly massive boobs.
It's something that I'm sure many people who embark on weight loss worry about. I know it was something that crossed my mind. The fact is that when your losing weight your boobs are probably going to get smaller. They might not get teeny tiny, but there probably will be some changes.
This week I got measured for the 2nd time this year. So I thought I'd take a moment to reflect...
In September 2008 at the beginning of my weight loss journey I was wearing a 30H
In May 2009 I was wearing a 30G
In February 2010 I was wearing a 30 FF
In May 2010 my bra is currently between a 28FF or 28G depending on the style.
I should consider myself lucky, for nearly 2 stones in weight loss I've only lost between 1-2 cup sizes and have gone down 1 back size. Mr H however is devastated :P
The best bit from my perspective is that bra's are gradually getting prettier. The styles available in a 30H left alot of be desired, the straps were nearly an inch thick and I didn't really feel that 'hot' in them. My new range of bra's include delicate straps and even a strapless one that does the job perfectly and neatly hides under all things strapless. I guess the worst bit is really just that I still can't nip into M&S to pick up a new bra, I have limited options available at Debenhams, but for now I'm still having to trek into specialist shops or order online - booo!

I'd still be happy with that cup size Nic - It could be a whole lot smaller!! xx
ReplyDeleteAha, this made me laugh, thankyou. I would be over the moon if I could get a bit more boobage from somewhere! They were never massive anyway, I was wearing a 38C at my heaviest, but now I seem to be a 32B/C, and possibly smaller still, but as I can't get smaller than a 32 back anywhere in my cup size we'll never know... I'd be incredibly proud of your 28Gs if I were you, and flaunt that strapless bra now you've got one! x
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I'm on the look out for a strapless number for Ascot though I'm not having much luck browsing the internet for things, I think I need to get out there and try things on.
ReplyDeleteAs for your bra dilemma, have you thought about trying to order online? Places like Figleaves do a great selection of smaller back sizes. Or alternatively do you have a Debenhams you can get to? They have a suprisingly good range of bras and if they didn't have the size you wanted I'm sure they'd order you one in (as they have loads listed on their website).
